Google’s July 2026 Workspace Drop focuses on a simple goal: helping people move from an idea to finished work with fewer repetitive steps. The latest updates bring Gemini deeper into Slides, Vids and Docs, while Google Meet becomes easier to use on the move.

Google Slides

Go from a brief to an on-brand presentation

Starting with a blank slide is often the slowest part of building a presentation. Google’s new deck-generation feature in Slides can create a complete, editable first draft from a simple description of the presentation you need.

For a stronger result, describe the subject, audience, purpose and tone, then reference an existing deck whose design should be followed. Gemini can gather supporting context from Google Docs, Sheets, PDFs and previous presentations. It can also ask clarifying questions before developing a structured plan and generating the deck.

The result is not a static AI export. It is a fully editable Slides presentation that can be refined, rearranged and adapted like any other deck.

Especially useful for

  • Sales proposals
  • Client presentations
  • Training materials
  • Campaign plans
  • Research summaries

Google Vids

Turn presentations into reusable videos

Some presentations need to be delivered again and again—to new employees, customers, partners or audiences in different regions. Google Vids can now help turn those presentations into repeatable video experiences.

Vids AI avatars can storyboard slides, work from a generated script and act as digital presenters. If the message or audience changes, the script can be revised without recording the whole presentation again. Google Vids can also generate AI voiceovers in eight languages, including Japanese, Korean, Spanish and French.

This makes it easier to maintain consistent delivery while adapting the same core material for different teams, markets or use cases.

Edit video by describing the result you want

Gemini Omni Flash in Google Vids adds prompt-based editing for footage captured on a phone, existing video assets and AI-generated clips. Instead of manually rebuilding every variation, describe the change in natural language and use Gemini to test a new approach, repurpose material or extend the useful life of existing footage.

Google Vids can also generate videos featuring avatars designed to look and sound like the creator, reducing the need for repeated studio sessions or camera-ready recording.

Use natural-language prompts to create, adapt and repurpose video content.

Especially useful for

  • Onboarding
  • Product explainers
  • Internal training
  • Sales enablement
  • Localized announcements
  • Social video variations

Google Docs

Move from document feedback to a final draft faster

Feedback improves a document, but long comment threads can easily become a second project. Gemini in Docs can now summarize discussions, help create and answer comments, and translate feedback into suggested document edits.

Authors can review each proposed change and accept it with a click, making it easier to resolve comments without repeatedly switching between the document, discussion threads and a separate list of revisions.

Especially useful for

  • Contracts and proposals
  • Collaborative reports
  • Policy documents
  • Campaign copy
  • Project plans
  • Multi-reviewer drafts

Visual creation in Docs

Create diagrams, images and infographics without leaving the document

Strong visuals can make a complex document much easier to understand, but creating them in a separate design tool adds time and friction. Gemini in Docs can now generate and edit images, diagrams and infographics from natural-language prompts.

Because Gemini can use the surrounding document as context, the resulting visuals can reflect the topic and key information already on the page. Styling can be adjusted, visual summaries can be generated and multiple graphics can be updated without leaving Docs.

Google Meet

Join meetings through Android Auto

Google Meet’s Android Auto integration brings essential meeting controls into the car’s interface. Drivers can check their upcoming meeting schedule and join calls with a single tap using hands-free audio.

The History tab also supports direct audio calls, making it possible to call a contact without navigating through a phone. As with any in-car feature, voice controls should be used wherever possible and interactions should only take place when it is safe and lawful to do so.

Expanded availability

More administrative control and more languages in Docs

Google is also expanding the availability of recently introduced Workspace features.

EU/US

Gemini data regions

Administrators can control whether their organization’s Gemini app data is processed and stored geographically in the European Union or the United States.

11+

11 additional Docs languages

Support is expanding to Mandarin, Dutch, Malay, Hebrew, Polish, Turkish, Czech, Indonesian, Swedish, Danish and Norwegian, in addition to the eight languages already supported.

The practical takeaway

Less time converting work. More time improving it.

The July Workspace Drop is not simply a collection of isolated AI features. Each update shortens a familiar workflow: from brief to presentation, slides to video, feedback to final draft, written content to visual explanation, and calendar notification to meeting.

For teams, that means less time spent converting, formatting, recording and coordinating—and more time improving the work itself.
